Bethany Lackey, PhD
Feeling stuck is a part of life, but that doesn’t mean you have to figure it out by yourself. There are many pieces that play a part in being in a tough place that make each situation different. I am experienced in working with many issues including depression, relationship issues, anxiety, and traumatic stress. I am passionate about women’s issues, cultural diversity, and am LGBTQ+ affirmative. Life gets really difficult sometimes - you are stronger and more resilient than you think.
I earned my master’s degree and Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in Counselor Education and Supervision. I research refugee experiences, and teach and supervise counselors-in-training in their work with clients. My experience as an educator has deepened my understanding of what trauma-informed, safe, inclusive counseling should look like.
Reaching out for help can be a difficult decision, and being here means you've made it a long way in the process. I am looking forward to walking beside you as you work through this part of your journey.
